Arthur’s Treat - Simon Jeffes (1980)
Another track from 1980’s Miniatures album compiled by erstwhile Mott The Hoople member Morgan Fisher.
Simon Jeffes was a fantastically talented and interesting man. You’ve probably heard his work with the Penguin Cafe Orchestra in a variety of film soundtracks and trailers.
Jeffes’ PCO work is some of the most evocative music ever recorded — always there to provide and support many a wistful, joyful or contemplative mood. This track is no exception, taking no time to sweep you away up into a circling breeze of a song and then bringing you back down to earth just as suddenly.
