Testing - Neil Innes & Fatso (1975)

Mr. Innes turns 66 today, so in his honor, we’ve got a track from the short lived Eric Idle helmed television program Rutland Weekend Television.

A Bonzo Dog Band alumnus and frequent Monty Python collaborator, Innes has dug out quite a career for himself. In 1978, he wrote the bulk of the tuneage for The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash, a project sprung from the RWT episodes. Each tune is a brilliant Beatles pastiche, so check those out.

Here’s to Neil, may his idiotic sweetness resonate loud and clear.

Kama Sutra - The Bonzo Dog (Doo-Dah) Band (1968)

Here’s a poppy little piece of smut.

From the Bonzo’s second and most brilliant long player The Doughnut in Granny’s Greenhouse, this track is a wonderful paean to tricky sex acts that only the ancient Indians could think up.

The Bonzos have a rich history, coming up through the ranks with members of Monty Python and even appearing as special guest performers in The Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour film.

According to the liner notes on the vinyl LP: The noises of your body are a part of this record. So keep that in mind.

It’s fun, it swings and WHO KNOWS — it may just give you some ideas for later on…
